CHRISTMAS AROUND THE WORLD - Most of us can appreciate a traditional American Christmas experience. But if you’re curious about how other cultures celebrate the season, you’ll want to check out a special free event taking place this evening in downtown Shreveport. Janice Gatlin is Executive Director for the Multicultural Center of the South… she joins us now to tell us about Christmas Around the World.
"Christmas Around The World is our yearly open house. It's free and open to the public.," Gatlin explained. "Only thing we ask is that you bring a toy for a boy or girl which we in turn give to the 'Operation Santa Claus' of the Shreveport Firefighters. We have Christmas trees that are decorated from each of the cultures we have here. It gives children an opportunity to see how other cultures celecbrate Christmas."
The Multicultural Center of the South is at the corner of Spring and Milam Streets in Downtown Shreveport… Their website is mccsouth.org.
