PRICE OF A PANDEMIC -  There is a lot going on with the nation’s economy as far as job numbers,  business closures, and the fluctuation of oil prices; much of which has been influenced by the Novel Coronavirus Pandemic as businesses were disrupted by stay-at-home orders and social distancing.  As states gradually reopen, many local economies are struggling to find some sense of normal,  and everyone is probably wondering what the overall cost of the pandemic will mean for their businesses,  their families, their livelihoods and their futures.

This Tuesday, June 9th at 2pm – there will be a free Zoom webinar presented by the North Louisiana Economic Partnership that will feature Dr. Ray Perryman, with the Perryman Group – an economic research and analysis firm based in Waco, Texas.  The focus of the webinar  is The Price of a Pandemic.  Gary Moore is Market President with the Argent Financial Group which is co-sponsoring the event with NLEP.

Dr. Ray Perryman of the Perryman Group will discuss the impact of a pandemic on a local economy and what people can do about it.

"The purpose of it, I guess at the heart of it is really  to better understand the burden that our neighbors and our communities are dealing with because of the pandemic," Moore explained.

In 2004, Dr. Perryman was nominated for a Nobel Prize in economics,  he  will provide an overview on the pandemic’s economic impact on Northwest Louisiana’s economy, and what business, political and community leaders can do to restore it.  The Price of a Pandemic Zoom Webinar is Free but you need to register—you can go the the North Louisiana Economic Partnership Facebook page or website.  It begins 2pm Tuesday June 9th.
