Wiley College In Marshall, Texas To Receive $1 Million Grant

MILLION DOLLAR GRANT RECIPIENT - Wiley College in Marshall, Texas was selected to receive a $1 million dollar grant from United Negro College Fund to improve job outcomes of its graduates.  The UNCF Career Pathways Initiative, funded by Lilly Endowment Inc., awards $35 million in grants to selected historically-black colleges and universities and predominantly black institutions . The initiative is an effort to design and implement programs to improve employment outcomes for college graduates.

Chuck Smith brings more than 30 years' broadcast and media experience to Red River Radio. He began his career as a radio news reporter and transitioned to television journalism and newsmagazine production. Chuck studied mass communications at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia and motion picture / television production at the University of California at Los Angeles. He has also taught writing for television at York Technical College in Rock Hill, South Carolina and video / film production at Centenary College of Louisiana, Shreveport.
