East Texas Hospitals To Merge With Christus Health

EAST TEXAS HOSPITAL MERGER - The Good Shepherd Hospital System in Longview, Texas announced recently that it has signed a letter of intent to merge with Christus Health,  an international, Catholic basied / not-for-profit health corporation based in Irving, Texas.   Good Shepherd has two hosptials, one in Longview and the other in Marshall, Texas.  The hospitals have been operating in a negative-revenue situation for the past several years,  Christus Health will assume approximately $150 million in debt.
