La. Tax Incentives Require More Accountability, Allow More Local Say

TAX INCENTIVE ADJUSTMENTS - One of the best tools government officials have in their arsenal to attract business development in the state of Louisiana comes in the form of tax credits or tax breaks.  But some recent studies suggest that Louisiana has been too generous in the past and that verifying criteria of direct economic benefit has been too vague.    Secretary for Louisiana Economic Development,  Don Pierson explains some recent changes in the application process that  gives more input from local communities most affected by the incentives.
