Metropolitan Opera: Mozart’s La Clemenza di Tito

The 2018-19 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with Mozart’s opera set in ancient Rome, La Clemenza di Tito. Tenor Matthew Polenzani stars in the title role as the compassionate Emperor Tito. Mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato sings the trouser role of Sesto, Tito’s devoted friend, and soprano Elza van den Heever is Vitellia, Sesto’s lover, who covets the throne and orders him to assassinate the Emperor. The cast also features mezzo-soprano Emily D’Angelo as Annio, soprano Ying Fang as Servilia, and bass-baritone Christian Van Horn as Publio. Lothar Koenigs conducts the performance which will be heard live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network at 1:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, April 20.
