Metropolitan Opera: Verdi’s Otello

The 2018-19 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with Verdi’s towering Shakespearean masterpiece Otello, which will be heard live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network at 1:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, January 5. This run of Otello has marked the Met debut of conductor Gustavo Dudamel, who over the last decade has transformed the Los Angeles Philharmonic into one of the most closely watched classical ensembles in the world. Starring in the title role of the jealous Moorish general is tenor Stuart Skelton, opposite soprano Sonya Yoncheva as the devoted Desdemona, with baritone Željko Lučić as the treacherous Iago.
