Leonard Bernstein: America's Music Teacher

Airs Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at 1 p.m. So many musicians and lovers of music remember being introduced to classical music by Leonard Bernstein. This music-filled two-hour special celebrates that, looking especially at Bernstein’s devotion to music education, through his Young People’s Concerts with the New York Philharmonic his Harvard Lectures, the CBS Omnibus Television specials and his many writings about music.
