Airs Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at 2 p.m. Join the WFMT Radio Network as we celebrate the 4th of July through the lens of Latin-American music! Traditional Independence Day specials celebrate the great American classics, from pops-style musical numbers to the expansive works of Aaron Copland. This season, the WFMT Radio Network is delighted to bring stations Esta Tierra es Mi Tierra a fresh and timely perspective on the holiday from Latin-American classical expert Elbio Barilari, host of the weekly series Fiesta! Taking its name from the famous Woody Guthrie folk tune “This Land is My Land”, this one-hour special celebrates the 4th of July with the music of Latino-American composers, including works by Roberto Sierra, Tania León, Miguel Del Aguila, and Ricardo Lorenz among others. Enjoy the Latino soul of the 4th of July!
