URGING PRECAUTIONS - Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards  says he's worried too many people are ignoring public health officials’ continued calls for precautions when visiting restaurants, grocery stores and group gatherings as more Louisiana businesses reopen amid the coronavirus pandemic.

"Just like the rest of the country, we still have Covid-19 in every single community across the state of Lousiana," Edwards explained. " And if we let our guard down, we can easily see those cases start to rise and then we have to entertain additional measures and nobody wants that to happen."

Edwards intensified his pleas for people to wear face coverings and practice social-distancing when out in the public.  The state health department says more than 2,800 people in Louisiana have died from COVID-19.
