It stars soprano Jennifer Rowley as the noblewoman Leonora, mezzo-soprano Anita Rachvelishvili as the mysterious gypsy Azucena, tenor Yonghoon Lee as the troubadour Manrico, and baritone Quinn Kelsey as Manrico’s rival Count di Luna. Bass Štefan Kocán sings the role of Ferrando, and Marco Armiliato leads the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and Chorus in the performance.

The American Opera Series from WFMT continues with the San Francisco Opera and a production of Umberto Giordano's Andrea Chénier starring Yonghoon Lee as Andrea Chénier, Anna Pirozzi as Maddalena, George Gagnize as Gérard, J’Nai Bridges as Bersi, Joel Sorensen as The Incredible, Jill Grove as Madelon, David Pershall as Roucher, and Catherine Cook as Contessa di Coigny. Also apprearing are Robert Pomakov, Alex Boyer, Edward Nelson, Anthony Reed, Matthew Stump, Brad Walker, and Anders Frölich.

Airs Saturday, February 6, at 12 p.m. The 2015-16 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a live broadcast of the popular verismo double bill of Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana and Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci, led by Met Principal Conductor Fabio Luisi. Cavalleria Rusticana stars Violeta Urmana as Santuzza, opposite Yonghoon Lee, who adds a new role to his Met repertory as the faithless Turiddu, with Ambrogio Maestri as Alfio, the wronged husband.

This week on the Lyric Opera of Chicago we present Verdi's Il Trovatore featuring Andrea Silvestrelli as Ferrando; J’nai Bridges as Inez; Amber Wagner as Leonora; and Quinn Kelsey as Count Di Luna. This production also features Yonghoon Lee in the roll of Manrico, with Stephanie Blythe as Azucena; Kenneth Nichols as An Old Gypsy; Timothy Bradley as A Messenger; and Jonathan Johnson as Ruiz. Asher Fisch will lead the Lyric Opera Orchestra and Chorus and Suzanne Nance will host with guest commentator Roger Pines.

The 2014-15 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a live broadcast of Verdi’s sweeping historical tragedy Don Carlo, conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin, the dynamic maestro who led the 2010 Met premiere of Nicholas Hytner’s production. Yonghoon Lee portrays the conflicted title hero, with Barbara Frittoli as Elisabeth de Valois, the woman he loves; Ferruccio Furlanetto as his father and rival, the imposing King Philip II; Ekaterina Gubanova as the jealous Princess Eboli; Dmitri Hvorostovsky as Rodrigo, Don Carlo’s friend and ally; and James Morris as the menacing Grand Inquisitor. Don Carlo will be heard live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network at 12:00 p.m. CT on Saturday, April 11.
