Airs Thursday, May 16, 2019, at 1 p.m. The new season of concerts from the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival concludes this week as host Kerry Frumkin welcomes countertenor David Daniels for a perfromance of Vivaldi's Stabat Mater. Also on the concert the Miami String Quartet will present Five Pieces for String Quartet by Schulhoff and Pianist Anne-Marie McDermott joins violinist Ida Kavafian and cellist Peter Wiley for the Piano Trio in G Major, Op. 121a by Beethoven.

Air Monday, September 21, at 1 p.m. On this week's broadcast concert by the San Francisco Symphony, pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet will join Maestro James Conlon on stage for a performance of Piano Concerto No. 1 in C minor by Shostakovich. The concert opens with Schulhoff's Scherzo from Symphony No. 5 and concludes with Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6 in B minor, Opus 74, Pathétique. Then, from the archives, music director Michael Tilson Thomas will lead the orchestra in the Symphony No. 9 in E-flat major by Shostakovich. Rik Malone will host.

Airs Thursday, July 9, at 8 p.m. Though the repertoire of composition for violin and cello is not especially large, there are many colorful and dramatic duos that span the period from the late nineteenth through the first quarter of the 20th century, some of which have become staples of the literature. In this episode, we listen to a 2011 recital by violinist Benny Kim and cellist Keith Robinson featuring works by Gliere, Kodaly, Halverson and Schulhoff.
