Allegri, Sances, and Monteverdi plus as a bonus we'll hear Respighi's Pines of Rome performed by Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and to fill out the program Mozart's Violin Sonata in B-flat K. 454 performed by violinist Joshua Bell & pianist Jeremy Denk.

Airs Monday, July 10, 2017, at 1 p.m. Join the San Francisco Symphony for a brand new season as Music Director Michael Tilson Thomas is joined by pianist Daniil Trifonov for the Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor by Chopin on a concert that opens with Ravel's Menuet antique, and also features Rossini's Overture to La scala di seta and Roman Festivals by Respighi. The concert concludes with Also Sprach Zarathustra by Richard Strauss.

Aired Friday, April 29, at 11 a.m. Bill Beckett spoke with Michael Butterman, Music Director and Conductor of the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra along with composer Stephen Lias, about this seasons finale featuring works inspired by nature including the Gates of the Artic by Lias, La Mer by Debussy, Ghosts of the Grasslands by Heitzeg, and the Pines of Rome by Respighi.

Airs Monday, January 25, at 1 p.m. On this weeks broadcast concert by the Cleveland Orchestra maestro Giancarlo Guerrero returns to the podium and will be joined by classical guitarist Milos Karadaglic for a performance of the Concierto de Aranjuez by Rodrigo. The concert will open with the Capriccio Italien by Tchaikovsky, and we'll also hear Respighi's Fountains of Rome and the Capriccio espanole by Rimsky-Korsokov.
