Red River Radio Spotlight: Simone Dinnerstein with the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra

Aired Friday, May 2 at 11 a.m.  Kermit Poling spoke with pianist Simone Dinnersten, composer Philip Lasser, and music director/conductor Michael Betterman about the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra's season finale and chamber concerts this weekend. Works to be performed are Ravel's Le tombeau de Couperin, Philip Lasser's Piano Concerto subtitled The Circle and the Child, and Dvorak's Symphony No. 9 (“From the New World”). Red River Radio Spotlight: Particle Fever at the Robinson Film Center

Aired Wednesday, April 16 at 12 noon. Bill Beckett talks with Alexandre Kent, the Executive Director of the Robinson Film Center and Dr. Lee Sawyer, a professor of physics at Louisiana Tech University about the film “Particle Fever,” a documentary which captures the launch of the Large Hadron Collider. “Particle Fever,” will be screened at the Robinson Film Center beginning Friday with a special showing Saturday, April 19 at 5 p.m. followed by a talk with Dr. Sawyer who will field questions to help audience members understand why this unprecedented experiment matters to scientists and non-­scientists alike.
