Welcome to the Tenth Annual Red River Radio Young Artists Competition, open to instrumentalists and vocalists ages 18 and under in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas. Winners will be chosen from entries for participation in a radio broadcast to be recorded in the Marion and Donald Weiss Performance Studio at Red River Radio. Each winner will receive a copy of their professionally recorded performance. Winners will be selected based on ability, musicality, and appropriateness of the selection for a radio program.  (more)

Young Artists Competition 2019 Posted February 4, 2019. Welcome to the Ninth Annual Red River Radio Young Artists Competition, open to instrumentalists and vocalists ages 18 and under in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas. Winners will be chosen from entries for participation in a radio broadcast to be recorded at 3 p.m. April 28, 2019, in the Marion and Donald Weiss Performance Studio at Red River Radio. Each winner will receive a copy of their professionally recorded performance. Winners will be selected based on ability, musicality, and appropriateness of the selection for a radio program.
     Please complete the form below, including the signature of one parent or guardian. Please return along with a CD of your performance (accompanied) and a signed teacher approval form. The deadline for entries is 5 p.m. Friday, April 5. Winners will be notified beginning April 8.

From October 13 through November 12. Red River Radio is excited to partner with StoryCorps as we host their visit to the Shreveport-Bossier City area starting October 12.  They will park their mobile Airstream recording studio for an entire month at the Broadmoor branch of the Shreve Memorial Library, recording stories from our region for posterity.  StoryCorps is creating an invaluable archive for future generations by preserving and sharing humanity’s stories in order to build connections between people and create a more just and compassionate world.  It’s a reminder of our shared humanity, strengthening and building the connections between people, teaching the value of listening, and weaving into the fabric of our culture the understanding that everyone’s story matters.  Information about reserving interview/recording time will be coming soon.
