Airs Saturday, March 7, 2020, at 12 noon. The 2019-20 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with Così fan tutte, Mozart’s bittersweet comedy in which love is put to the test. Nicole Car and Serena Malfi are the sisters Fiordiligi and Dorabella, and Ben Bliss and Luca Pisaroni are their sweethearts Guglielmo and Ferrando. Heidi Stober plays the ladies’ free-spirited maid Despina, and Gerald Finley is Don Alfonso, who masterminds a scheme to test the couples. Harry Bicket conducts the performance.

The 2019-20 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with its first-ever Saturday matinee broadcast of Agrippina, Handel’s satire about the lust for power in ancient Rome. The work dates from 1709, making it the oldest opera ever broadcast from the Met. Grammy Award-winning mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato stars in the title role as the Empress who will stop at nothing to make sure her son inherits the throne.

Airs Saturday, January 18, 2020, at 12 noon. The 2019-20 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with Verdi’s beautiful tragedy La Traviata. Aleksandra Kurzak sings the iconic title role as Violetta, the courtesan who gives up everything she possesses for an enduring love. Dmytro Popov is the impulsive Alfredo, and Quinn Kelsey is his moralistic father Giorgio Germont. Karel Mark Chichon conducts the Metropolitan Orchestra and Chorus.

Airs Saturday, December 14, 2019, at 12 noon. The 2019-20 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with Tchaikovsky’s thriller The Queen of Spades. Tenor Yusif Eyvazov stars as Hermann, an officer who succumbs to his obsession with gambling. In the role of her highly acclaimed Met debut, Norwegian soprano Lise Davidsen is Lisa, who is destroyed by her love for Hermann. The cast also features Larissa Diadkova as the notorious old Countess, as well as Igor Golovatenko as Prince Yeletsky, Elena Maximova as Pauline, and Alexey Markov as Tomsky.

Airs Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 12 noon.  The 2017-18 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with Massenet’s Thaïs in a broadcast from November 11, 2017, starring American soprano Ailyn Pérez in her role debut as the glamorous courtesan and title character. Canadian baritone Gerald Finley gave his first staged performance as the monk Athanaël, in Massenet’s intriguing exploration of the conflict between religious faith and sensual desire.
