Airs Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 12 noon. During August and September, the Lyric Opera of Chicago Broadcasts return with six encore presentations from their 2016-17 season. This week we present Les Troyens by Hector Berlioz.

Airs Saturday, June 3, 2017, at 12 noon. The Lyric Opera of Chicago continues this week with a performance of Les Troyens by Hector Berlioz starring Christine Goerke as Cassandre; Susan Graham as Didon; Brandon Jovanovich as Énée; Lucas Meachem as Chorèbe; Christian Van Horn as Narbal; and Okka von der Damerau as Anna. The director is Tim Albery, the chorus master is Michael Black, and the Lyric Opera Orchestra and Chorus are conducted by Sir Andrew Davis.

Airs Saturday, October 31, at 12 noon. This week the San Francisco Opera present's Hector Berlioz's Les Troyens starring Anna Caterina Antonacci as Cassandra, Susan Graham as Dido, Bryan Hymel as Aeneas, and Sasha Cooke as Anna, with Brian Mulligan as Chorebus, Christian Van Horn as Narbal, and René Barbera as Iopas. David McVicar directs this production with Ian Robertson as chorus master and San Francisco Opera Orchestra and Chorus under the direction of David Runnicles.

Airs Saturday, January 5 at 11:00 a.m.  The 2012-13 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a live broadcast of Les Troyens, led by Met Principal Conductor Fabio Luisi. The cast for Berlioz’s epic, which travels from war-ravaged Troy to the North African shores of Carthage, is led by Bryan Hymel as the Trojan hero Aeneas; Deborah Voigt as Cassandra, the cursed prophetess; Susan Graham as Dido, Queen of Carthage; Dwayne Croft as Cassandra’s fiancé, Coroebus; Karen Cargill as Dido’s sister, Anna; Eric Cutler as Dido’s court poet, Iopas; and Kwangchul Youn as Narbal, Dido’s advisor.  Les Troyens will be heard live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network at 11 a.m. CT on Saturday, January 5. The performance will also be transmitted worldwide as part of The Met: Live in HD series, which now reaches more than 1,900 movie theaters in 64 countries.
