Airs Monday, June 17, 2019, at 1 p.m. Superstar pianist Yuja Wang joins Michael Tilson Thomas and the orchestra for the work that launched Frederic Chopin's career. This episode also features music by Michael Tilson Thomas himself and Anton Bruckner's tribute to his idol, Richard Wagner. Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor, Opus 21 with pianist Yuja Wang. Airs Monday, November 30, at 1 p.m. Soprano Nadine Sierra will be the guest soloist this week on the San Francisco Symphony for three works from Mozart's unfinished operata Zaïde. We'll hear 'Ruhe sanft mein ganzes Leben;' 'Trostlos schluchzet Philomel,' and 'Tiger! Wetze nur die Klauen.' Music Director Michael Tilson Thomas will round out the concert with one of the few works that brought Anton Bruckner success during his lifetime. We'll hear Bruckners Symphony No. 7 and we'll close with Schumann Symphony No. 3.

Airs Monday, September 14, at 1 p.m. On this week’s broadcast concert by the San Francisco Symphony pianist Garrick Ohlsson is the soloist for one of Mozart's best known concertos, the Piano Concerto No. 21 and conductor Laureate Herbert Blomstedt will lead the orchestra in a symphonic journey to the age of chivalry with Anton Bruckner's Romantic Symphony, his Symphony No. 4 in E-flat major. Music Director Michael Tilson Thomas will also be heard in an archival recording of Webern's Six Pieces for Orchestra, Opus 6.

This year the Rochester, NY chamber choir Madrigalia returns for another musical celebration of Christmas, centered on the O Magnum Mysterium Mass by 16th century Spanish composer Tomas Luis de Victoria.
