PARTICIPANTS NEEDED -  A new Covid-19 treatment will be studied at Willis-Knighton Health System in Shreveport and participants are needed for the clinical trial.  Dr. Joseph Bocchini and Clint Wilson, MD, of Family Medical Associates, are principal investigators for the study.  Dr. Bocchini, is also infectious disease specialist at Willis-Knighton. He explains the clinical trial involves studying whar  affect monoclonal antibodies have on Covid-19.

"So monoclonal antibodies are a product that's created in the laboratory based on looking at which antibodies used against the virus are most likely able to actually kill the virus, neutralize it in biologic terms," Bocchini explained. "So then if a patient is infected and we give them those antibodies, then perhaps it's going to modify the course of the infection and make the patient better faster. Prevent them from getting more serious complications, perhaps prevent them from requiring hospitalization and inpatient care."
