Trump Stumps In Bossier For Republican Candidate In Louisiana Governor's Race

TRUMP BOSSIER RALLY-   Thousands of people filled the CenturyLink Center in Bossier City  to near capacity yesterday  to see President Donald Trump who was to appear at a campaign rally for Louisiana gubernatorial candidate Republican Businessman Eddie Rispone. Rispone  is in a tight race against incumbent Democratic Governor John Bel Edwards.  The election runoff is Saturday and this is the 2nd time in two weeks the President has come to Louisiana to drum up support for the Republican candidate.

He appeared two times before the primary which Eddie Rispone received more votes than Republican Congressman Ralph Abraham. Trump has been crisscrossing the country to stump for Republican candidates, his support for Kentucky Republican Governor Matt Bevins however didn’t help the incumbent win back his office as he conceded a close

race yesterday. Kentucky was Trump’s 5th Strongest state during the presidential election in 2016.  Kayleigh McEnany – National Press Secretary with the Trump Campaign shared an observation about the event.

"The President is a game-changer in a lot of these races," McEnnenny explained."He forced a run-off between John Bel Edwards and a Republican which was the goal all along. It's the reason we went to Lake Charles and it's the reason we're here tonight."

Trump Took the stage and spoke for about an hour… his focus went back and forth between Impeachment Hearings in Washington and The Economy.   When commenting about the Louisiana Governor’s Race –Trump  spent considerable time aligning  Governor John Bel Edwards as part of the Washington Elite.

"It's a vote for the Washington swamp, it's a vote for the Washington establishment," Trump said. "Get out and vote for Eddie Rispone who's for jobs, safety, and freedom."

After being introduced to the crowd, candidate Eddie Rispone also matched Trump’s focus against Edwards.

"We have got to send a message to these liberal socialist Democrats in Washington that we support our President" Rispone explained. "And we're not going to put up with all the lies that they're calling us out on."

On the same day as the Trump Rally, Democratic Governor John Bel Edwards held a press conference at his campaign offices in SHreveport and shared is thoughts as how voters will choose a governor on Saturday.

"The voters of Louisiana will decide this election and they're going to decide it on Louisiana issues," explained Edwards. "They don't need the President, they don't need anybody else telling them one way or another."

Political observers say the outcome for the Louisiana governor’s race will come down to down  to  how former  Abraham supporters vote  and voter turnout in general.
