San Francisco Symphony: Violinist Christian Tetzlaff

Airs Monday, October 26, at 1 p.m. On this week's broadcast by the San Francisco Symphony, music director Michael Tilson Thomas leads the orchestra in the last of Brahms’s symphonic works, his Symphony No. 4 in E minor and also takes the audience through a scene from Finish mythology with Lemminkäinen's Return by Jean Sibelius. As the center piece violinist Christian Tetzlaff joins the maestro and orchestra for the Violin Concerto No. 2 in B minor by Bartók and then from the archives we'll hear the Variations on a Theme by Haydn of Johannes Brahms.
