Airs Monday, August 6, 2018, at 1 p.m. This week the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra under Maestro Michael Tilson Thomas presents a concert of short delights that opens with Mahler's Blumine, and also features Music from the film Our Town by Copland, La Plus que lente by Debussy, On Hearing the First Cuckoo in Spring by Delius, Valse triste by Sibelius, the “Vocalise” by Rachmaninoff, “Cortège of Bacchus” from Sylvia, music by Delibes. As the center piece, pianist Emanuel Ax performs Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3.
