Red River Radio Spotlight: Twyla Robinson in Concert

Aired Friday, March 28 at 12 noon. Kermit Poling spoke with Soprano Twyla Robinson and pianist Jerome Tan about their upcoming recitals at the Hurley School of Music on the Centenary College Campus. The first concert is Sunday, March 30 at 3 p.m and the second will take place on Thursday, April 3 at 7:30 p.m. 

On the Sunday Concert, in conjunction with the Attaway Fellows Program Ms. Robinson will present a recital and discussion on the lives of three women who left an indelible mark on the classical music world: Alma Mahler, LiliBoulanger, and Carrie Jacobs-Bond, who changed the trajectory of classical music through their music and their life choices. 

On the Thursday Concert Ms. Robinson presents a celebration of American song, including composers Charles Ives, Samuel Barber, Stephen Foster, and a wide collection of parlor songs. She will be collaborating with pianist Jerome Tan.  More information for both recitals is available online at Centenary College.

The 2019 silver medal winner of the International Global Music Award, Kermit Poling is Music Director of both the South Arkansas Symphony, the Marshall Symphony Orchestra, the Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet, the Associate Conductor of the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra as well as General Manager of the Red River Radio Network.
