Airs Saturday, April 27, 2019, at 11 a.m. The 2018-19 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with Götterdämmerung, the fourth and final opera of Wagner’s epic cycle Der Ring des Nibelungen. Soprano Christine Goerke continues in the starring role of Brünnhilde, a goddess now made mortal, opposite tenor Andreas Schager making his Met debut as Siegfried, and bass-baritone Eric Owens as the scheming Hagen. The cast of preeminent Wagnerian singers also features bass-baritones Tomasz Konieczny as the Nibelung Alberich, Hagen’s father, and Evgeny Nikitin as Gunther. Philippe Jordan conducts the Met orchestra and chorus. The performance will be heard live over Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network at 11:00 a.m. CT on Saturday, April 27.
