Louisiana Announces $1 Million Vaccine Lottery

LA VACCINE INCENTIVES -  Governor John Bel Edwards of Louisiana’s weekly press conference in Baton Rouge  opened with much fanfare yesterday,  setting the stage for  a special announcement of an new incentive program  called: “Shot at a Million” , The program’s aim is to get more people vaccinated  in Louisiana  as less than 34% of the state’s population has been fully vaccinated.   Louisiana  is ranked near the bottom among the states with the lowest coronavirus vaccine rate;  currently it is 47th.  The democratic governor explained  the  incentive  is part  of  the “Bring Back Louisiana” campaign.

"The way this is going to work is 14 lucky Louisianians with at least one Covid-19 shot will win  cash prizes or scholarships throughout the month of July culminating with a grand prize of $1 million dollars", Edwards said.

Edwards  hopes  a  chance  to  win  a share of  $2.3 million  in cash prizes and scholarships   will  persuade more  Louisiana  residents  to get vaccinated.  Drawings will take place over five weeks, starting July 14.  Nine  $100,000  scholarships  and  Four $100,000 cash prizes  will be awarded  and the grand prize of  $1 million dollars  will be  handed out to a winner age 18 and older.  Registration for the drawings begins Monday at noon  at www.shotatamillion.com.
