Airs Thursday, August 16, 2018, at 6 p.m. More young people are playing sports than ever before, which can be both healthy and fun, but sports also carry risks for injuries.  Dr. Sanford Katz hosted this Health Matters discussion on the prevention of sports injuries and how they’re treated when they do occur. He was joined by Dr. Shane Barton, Chairman and Associate Professor, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at LSU Health; Dr. Patrick Massey, orthopaedic surgeon and sports injury specialist with The Orthopedic Clinic with Willis-Knighton Health Systems, and Clinical Assistant Professor at LSU Health;  Lance Champagne, athletic trainer and Director of Sports Medicine at Louisiana State University in Shreveport; and Dr. Christina Notarianni, Associate Professor and Chief of Pediatric Neurosurgery and Residency Program Director with University Neurosurgery at LSU Health.
