Conference on Bullying & Suicide Prevention at LSUS

COMBINED CONFERENCES -  This Thursday and Friday,  teachers, counselors, school psychologists and other professionals  from all over the ArkLaTex  will gather at LSU in Shreveport for the  9th  and  14th Annual Bullying and Suicide Prevention Conference.  This year LSUS is combining these two conferences to give attendees  a chance  to  get the  latest  on  these  related  topics  at  one event.    Dr. Barzanna White, District  School  Psychologist  with  Caddo Parish  Schools  explains the focus of the conference.

"Being able to recognize that there are individuals that are in crisis and that they need help really is key to our training,"explained White. "So individuals that come to receive training from the various wonderful speakers that we have are able to go back and implement what they learned in that setting."

Chuck Smith brings more than 30 years' broadcast and media experience to Red River Radio. He began his career as a radio news reporter and transitioned to television journalism and newsmagazine production. Chuck studied mass communications at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia and motion picture / television production at the University of California at Los Angeles. He has also taught writing for television at York Technical College in Rock Hill, South Carolina and video / film production at Centenary College of Louisiana, Shreveport.
