CONTROVERSIAL DINNER GUESTS - Former president Donald Trump’s recent dinner meeting with Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West and White Supremacist-Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes has drawn criticism as both have widely denounced for their anti-Semitic / racists comments and views. Arkansas Governor Republican Asa Hutchinson appeared on CNN’s State of the Union Sunday and weighed in on Trump’s dinner guests.

“I don’t think it’s a good idea for a leader that’s setting an example for the country or the party to meet with (an) avowed racist or anti-Semite. And so it’s very troubling and it shouldn’t happen,” Hutchinson explained.

Prior to being Arkansas Governor, Hutchinson served as a U.S. Attorney in Arkansas and prosecuted White Supremacists which resulted in prison sentences. Trump has said he didn’t know Fuentes and that he met with West to offer political advice as the rapper has stated he was considering a presidential bid.

Arkansas Republican Governor Asa Hutchinson is considering a bid for the White House in 2024.

Hutchinson who is serving is final term as governor due to term limits is himself considering a run for the White House said Republican leaders need to avoid association with public figures who are noted for extremist ideologies.
“You certainly have every occasion that the question of white supremacy or neo-Nazism, or denying the Holocaust comes up. You have got to be absolutely clear in your communication that this is not acceptable dogma, it's not acceptable conversation, it's not acceptable history, and you have to disavow it,” Hutchinson said.

Hutchinson is scheduled to present a speech at the Reagan Institute this week that political observers say will outline his potential platform for a presidential run.
