Bossier Parish Crime Rate Higher Than Caddo For 2019

CRIME IN BOSSIER AND CADDO - According to the FBI’s latest crime data:  violent crime, and property crime in Bossier Parish was down in 2019 which is good news. But compared with its neighboring  parish, for the first time ever, Bossier Parishes’ crime rate was higher than in Caddo Parish.  Violent crime is composed of four major offenses: murder and non-negligent manslaughter, rape, robbery, and aggravated assault, offenses that involve force or threat of force.  Property crime  includes  the offenses of burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft, and arson.  Bossier Parish reported 531 such crimes in 2019, compared to 642 in 2018.  And Caddo Parish had 317 similar crimes in 2019, compared to 659 in 2018.

Bossier City’s crime rate is similar to Shreveport’s. In fact, Bossier City had a slightly higher violent crime rate than Shreveport in 2019.  The Federal Bureau of Investigation  receives crime data from all federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies
