Red River Radio’s hiring goal is to employ the most qualified employees that will best fulfill our needs. Red River Radio staff presently consists of 6 full-time employees including 2 women directors. Fortunately, turnover in our staff is extremely rare and typically we don’t even have job openings to fill. In 2015, we had no job openings.
When funds are available, we also hire work-study students as part-time employees.
Red River Radio provides training for students interested in a career in telecommunications. This is primarily accomplished through internship programs. However, Red River Radio has also worked directly with schools also.
Red River Radio also participates in various job fairs throughout the city and, in particular, those held on the campus of LSUS. We continue to practice the guidelines of the University’s Affirmative Action Policy in hiring both staff and students, and station staff participates in regular (annual) training provided by the university’s Human Resource department. We fully comply with the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) directives.
