On Sunday May 8th Red River Radio presented a concert featuring the winners of its second annual Young Artist Competition. These six performers showed their musical talents before a live audience at the LSUS University Center Theater. The concert was originally broadcast on Friday May 28, 2011 on the Regional Symphony Broadcast.  Kermit Poling will be your host and master of ceremonies.

The Program:
Mozart: Violin Concerto No. 2 in D (1st mvmt) performed by Elisabeth Bordelon, age 13
Bloch: Prayer “From Jewish Life” No. 1 performed by Eliot Haas, age 15
Sarasate: Caprice Basque performed by Sean Nathan, age 16
Jones: Salt Creek & Clinch Mountain Sidestep performed by Kohl Andes, age 17
Schubert: Seligkeit performed by Elisabeth Bordelon, age 13
Popper: Hungarian Rhapsody performed by Neil Nathan, age 13
Chopin: Polonaise in Ab Major, “Heroic,” performed by Wesley Ducote, age 16

The 2019 silver medal winner of the International Global Music Award, Kermit Poling is Music Director of both the South Arkansas Symphony, the Marshall Symphony Orchestra, the Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet, the Associate Conductor of the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra as well as General Manager of the Red River Radio Network.
