Airs Monday, September 17, 2018, at 1 p.m. This week the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra under Maestro Michael Tilson Thomas is jouined by violinist Gil Shaham for an all Stravinsky program featuring his Violin Concerto in D major along with Agon for orchestra and the 1947 revision of his Rite of Spring. As an encore we'll also hear Stravinsky's Apollo.

Airs Thursday, September 20, 2018, at 1 p.m. Zubin Mehta conducts the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra in Mahler's Symphony No. 3. The performance also features mezzo-soprano Mihoko Fujimura, MasterVoices and the Manhattan Girls Chorus. The symphony is a monumental work — the longest in the standard repertoire. John Schaefer and mezzo-soprano dynamo Susan Graham co-host the broadcast.
