RED RIVER RADIO NEWS INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
COMPENSATION: None. Intern may arrange to receive academic credit through his/her college or university.
LOCATION: Red River Radio, One University Place, Shreveport, LA 71115.
HOURS PER WEEK: Up to 15.

ELIGIBILITY: Must be a current student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree.
ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP: As a Red River Radio news intern, you will assist the news producer with all aspects of news gathering and producing weekday newscasts that air on Red River Radio. You will have the opportunity to learn: sound gathering techniques, editorial process involved in packaging stories and interviews, and, basic audio editing using digital editing/producing equipment. You may also write and produce stories for newscasts, research potential stories, arrange and conduct interviews, among other responsibilities.
Preferred experience: Candidate should have a strong interest in public radio journalism and possess excellent writing, research, communication, and organizational skills. Must be punctual, professional, familiar with basic computer applications, able to prioritize and see projects through to completion, and have demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently. Candidate should also express interest in news and current events. Some previous editing/reporting/producing experience is preferred.

RED RIVER RADIO COMMUNITY CORRESPONDENT PROGRAM
COMPENSATION: None. Community correspondents are volunteers.
LOCATION: Based throughout Red River Radio listening region.
HOURS PER WEEK: Flexible.
COORDINATOR: Kate Archer, News Producer.
ABOUT THE COMMUNITY CORRESPONDENT PROGRAM: As a community correspondent, you will assist the news producer with news gathering and producing stories in the community you live in. The stories are produced for weekday morning newscasts that air on Red River Radio. Examples of community correspondent volunteer activities include, but are not limited to: informing news producer about story ideas found in your community, reporting on upcoming events happening in your community, covering events happening in your community, writing newscast readers and filing stories via phone, and, working with news producer on producing stories with actualities (if you have personal recording and editing capabilities).
Preferred experience: Community correspondents should have a strong interest in public radio journalism, local news and current events. Writing, research and reporting skills are a plus.
