Marshall Symphony

Airs Friday, August 10, 2018, at 12 noon. The Marshall Symphony is featured this week with guest cellist Tina Guo for a concert that opens with Mikhail Glinka's overture to Ruslan and Lyudmila. Next cellist Tina Guo takes the stage for the Cello Concerto No. 1 in A minor, Op. 33 by Saint-Saens and the concert concludes with Antonín Dvořák's Symphony No. 9 in E minor, "From The New World." Kermit Poling conducts.

Airs Friday, June 22, 2018 at 12 noon. The week on our Regional Broadcasts the Marshall Symphony presents works by Handel, Haydn, Albinoni, Bach in a Baroque Spectacular.

Airs Friday, May 11, 2018 at 12 noon. This week on our Regional Symphony Broadcast, The Marshall Symphony will be featured, conducted by Kermit Poling in a program that opens with the Dance of the Comedians from The Bartered Bride by Bedřich Smetana. The program also features Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, Op. 43, with pianist Steven Dong, winner of the 2017 Juanita Miller competition of the Texas Association of Symphony Orchestras. This concert concludes with the Suite from the magnificent Firebird Suite by Igor Stravinsky.

Airs Thursday, September 7, 2017, at 11 a.m. Bill Beckett spoke with Tiffany Ammermen and Kermit Poling from the Marshall Symphony Orchestra about week filled with events throughout the City of Marshall Texas, including a Costume Party, Dixieland on the Square at Telegraph Park, Coffee with the Conductor, a Wine Tasting, an Open Dress Rehearsal on Friday, September 15, and on Saturday, September 16, at 8 p.m. the Marshall Symphony Orchestra presents “Shaken, Not Stirred,” the Music of James Bond with Jeans 'n Classics.
