About 200 high school students will participate in the A+ Alexandria Bowl Saturday at LSU Alexandria. Tournament director Tom Harmeyer says the third annual bowl will draw teams from 18 parishes. Harmeyer pens about 1,000 questions in this battle of wits. He says about 100 volunteers put on the event.

Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia is expanding its bachelor of fine arts program to train students in the areas of game design, animation and emerging media. The school has a new job posting for an assistant professor with this expertise. SAU's art and design department head Dan May says students will begin formal course work in this area next fall.

LeTourneau University in Longview breaks ground today on a $14 million student center. Meanwhile, East Texas Baptist University in neighboring Marshall is preparing to build a new residential facility and parking garage, a $23 million dollar project.
