The Central Louisiana Community Foundation will give its Community Impact award to the Alexandria Museum of Art at Dec. 14 ceremony.

The Southern Forest Heritage Museum in Longleaf, La., opens "Journey Stories," a traveling Smithsonian exhibit. The exhibit allows museum to tell its own story of central Louisiana sawmill workers.

The late John Shenaut led the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra for 33 years. He was known for spotting talented local musicians, and helping to advance their careers.
