The 2017-18 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season concludes with the final live broadcast of the season, Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette, starring soprano Ailyn Pérez and tenor Charles Castronovo as the star-crossed lovers. Plácido Domingo conducts a cast that also features mezzo-soprano Karine Deshayes as Romeo’s page Stéphano, baritone Joshua Hopkins as his friend Mercutio, and bass Kwangchul Youn as Frère Laurent, who unites the couple in hopes of ending the feud between their families. Roméo et Juliette will be heard live over Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network at 12:00 p.m. CT on Saturday, May 5.
