The student-led event denounces bullying in connection with sexual orientation or gender identity. Sara Whittington, a sociology major from Pineville, La., wanted to organize a creative outlet to mark the day. It’s the French word for “health.” Since August, the students have immersed themselves in the work done by MLK Health Center. More than 1,000 people are expected to come from a six-state region. Luke Eddy, marketing and logistics coordinator for the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, said six plays will be performed during the week-long event.
