LA Film Prize takes Shreveport-Bossier by storm

The Louisiana Film Prize, the first of its kind, wil be decided this weekend as audiences view the 20 finalist short films that were shot in Shreveport-Bossier. Creator Gregory Kallenberg says the $50,000 grand prize turned heads, and the audience participation is a new twist in the film festival world.

Bill Beckett talks with Gregory Kallenberg, Executive Director of the LA Film Prize 2012 Festival about the events this weekend at the Robinson Film Center, the Capri, and Artspace. 20 films will be shown in numerous viewings over the festival weekend. Opening Ceremonies begin Friday at 5:00 p.m. with a welcome to the filmmakers and to festival-goers. Registrations are streaming in for the first ever Louisiana Film Prize. The contest got under way this month. The winner will receive $50,000. The one contest rule is that the short film must be shot in Shreveport-Bossier.
