Kermit Poling is joined by Music Director Michael Butterman and pianist James Dick to talk about the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra's Season Finale which takes place this Saturday Night at 7:30 p.m. in RiverView Theatre. The Final Family Concert will take place this Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. SciPort is collaborating with the Shreveport Symphony to offer pre-concert activities and musical demonstrations starting in the RiverView Theater lobby at 2:15 PM. Kermit Poling talks with music director Michael Butterman and violinist Vadim Gluzman about the Shreveport Symphony’s 2012-13 season opening concert. The concert features Mr. Gluzman in the Bruch Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minorn. The concert opens with the Academic Festival Overture of Brahms and concludes with the Dvorak Symphony No. 8, a work filled with beautiful folk melodies and charm.
